Friday hugs!

Hello, and thanks for visiting me today. So this week has passed by relatively quietly which has been nice, and I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend. Hope that whatever you got planned for the weekend involves keeping warm and snug!

I have a backlog of photos in my dropbox of cards that I'd made before Christmas so I decided to share one today, have used the same image as the card on my previous post, but when its as sweet as this - that's ok!
The image is from the LOTV girls sketchpad, and I have coloured her with promarkers. Having cut out image using go kreate dies I mounted into a gorgeous doily. The paper is from Papermania stack, the flowers were made using a very old woodware punch, and I've added a bit of faux stitching with white gelly pen. The ribbon and pearls are from stash and sentiment is my own work.

Haven't taken part in any challenge for a while, but I would like to enter this into:

I also have exciting news to share..............back in December I entered a DT call with Creatalicious Challenges, and was delighted and excited when Melanie emailed me to offer me a spot. Due to the events of the last few weeks, I've not taken part in January's challenge, but I will be there next month - very much looking forward to working with this lovely team, and being a teamie for a change instead of the boss lady!

A whole lotta whiteness with The Cuties

Hello and thank you for visiting me today!

I want to start this post with huge thanks for the lovely comments on my previous post. Dad's funeral was last Friday, and we gave him a lovely send off. The service was beautiful and it was both emotional and comforting to hear his good friends saying such lovely things about him.

The only other "crafting" I have had chance for this year, was making the order of services, so it was a welcome relief for me yesterday to have some time at my desk and put the finishing touches to my DT card. Last Monday saw the start of a brand new challenge with the Cutie Pies and our theme this time is

White on White (and oh so cute)

We have already had some stunning entries, but there is still plenty of time to play along, not least as we are lucky enough to have two lovely sponsors this time both offering fabby prizes........
who are offering a prize is £10 worth of goodies that they will select, and will go to our chosen winner, and also

http://disdigidownloads.blogspot.co.uk/
are offering a wonderful Digi stamp prize to our randomly chosen winner.

For my own DT card (above) I plumped for a LOTV sketch pad image, which is coloured with promakers, have kept everything else fairly simple with a bit of swiss dots and sentiment embossing,
and buttons and a box.

My wonderful and superbly talented teamies have also made some gorgeous cards that you may want to have a looksee at!

Not such a happy little me

Hello, my lovely blog friends. Hope you're keeping well and have had a happy Christmas and new year time. It hasn't been such a happy time here as my darling dad suddenly and sadly passed away on December 29th.

For a chap of 85, he had been in reasonable health, although he had been having a few issues caused by low white blood cell counts, but after a transfusion last year, he had appeared to have got over this. Anyway, he had been feeling poorly on Christmas eve but at the time Mum thought it just to be a bit of a "bug", they came to my house boxing day and he managed a little dinner but really wasn't himself. By the next day we'd had the doctor out to him and by the evening we had him taken into hospital as it was clear that he wasn't well at all. After being admitted onto a ward and meds being given to treat a chest infection/pneumonia. On the Sunday night, the phone call came that he wasn't likely to make the night, we rushed to the hospital and when we got there the Doctors were with him, but it was too late and he was gone.

I wanted to share this photo as, when I was a little girl, I was always holding on to my Dad's hand and this was the very last thing I did too.

He was a lovely soul, a proper "old school" gentleman and always had time for everyone. He never swore and very rarely spoke badly of anyone, he also had a wonderful sense of humour too.....which I definitely have inherited.  I miss him so much, but I do take comfort in knowing that he went peacefully.

His funeral will be next Friday, and as I type I am in the process of printing out the Order of Service sheets (this is largely why I have the time to write this post)

As you can imagine, this is a time to be focussing on family, rather than crafting or blogging, but I will be back with you all soon xx

.......just to add, and I know my Dad would chuckle and agree - this wasn't a recent photo!
