Birthdays with Crafty Friends

Hello there my lovely blog chums....hope you've had a great week!

We had an absolutely smashing time away in Eastbourne with my in-laws, the weather was actually really nice and I must say, I haven't laughed as much in ages! When we got back the following day was GSCE results day, and I was delighted and very proud of Cameron's results - he has achieved a grade 7 (used to be and A) in Maths and English Literature, and B's in everything else......he starts in 6th form next week. Took the kids for a day out yesterday to Howletts Zoo,nr Canterbury, it was wonderful and I could have sat all day watching the Gorillas.
So all in all, it's been a lovely week off, and I am feeling glum at the thought of back to work on Monday - but I'm going to forget about that, just for now, and tell you about our fab new Crafty Friends challenge.

Hope you had a great weekend......I am scheduling this post as (weather permitting!!!) we will be away in our caravan. My sister in law and her hubby, who live in Yorkshire are coming down on a coach tour to Sussex, so we are going to Eastbourne so that we can spend some time with them.

Anwyay, its time for a Lil' Extra Cutieness - the Cutie Pie challenge Inspiration post, and if you've not joined us yet this month, where have you been?? Don't worry, there is still plenty of time to play along. Our theme is Boys will be Boys.

My DT card features:
  • Spaceman Josh (pre coloured) from Pink Gem - I used the PNG file of this image so that I could overlay image onto backing paper without having to fussy cut by hand
  • free download backing paper - thank you Me in Lila Park
  • fonts used: Invers sf & Arial
  • acrylic dots coloured with black promarker to make them look like spaceships twiddly-knobs

Christmas in July with Crafty Friends

I must start this post with a huge apology to my lovely Crafty Friends Teamies - as I am nearly a week late posting my DT card for the current challenge, will remedy that in a mo, but to explain, I don't actually think that I have been in possession of a "full set of marbles" since my holiday! A fortnight ago most of the UK experienced heavy rain and a thunder storm and during this time I stepped out of the caravan to answer my mobile, slipped on the top step and ended up on the patio at the bottom on my knees - at the time I was more worried about cracking the screen on my mobile and Alistair was more interested in  moaning about my wearing flip flops on such a surface. I was able to stand and bear weight on my leg so was happy that there was no breakage, but as the last two weeks have progressed it is still extremely painful at times and had kept me awake of a night time. I was getting a bit fed up at the weekend, so went to our local out of hours gp, who diagnosed ligament damage and advised me to take co-codamol along with the ibruprofen. Having been doing this I have gone to other extreme that the painkillers are now making me really sleepy so one way or another I have been running on a fuzzy brain for the last two weeks......hence the reason it completely passed me by that I had a challenge to tell you all about!!!!!

So........ at the Crafty Friends Challenge, this time it's all about
Christmas in July!!!

our lovely sponsors are:

If you are our lucky winner of this challenge, you will receive the following fabulous prize...  3 individual digital images or 1 digital set of your choice from Beccy's Place Store

I have used this gorgeous sentiment and candy cane image from Beccy's Place, which comes from the Tied up with String set.

There is still plenty of time to join in with this challenge and some other fantastic DT cards to browse, so come on over and join in with the festive fun!
