One For Cameron

Hello there my lovely blog chums, hope this finds you keeping well.....

I feel that today's card may need a little explanation.....you see, we like a "nickname" in our family.....my kids, and most of their friends refer to me as Mumma G, my daughter, Megan, gets called Megwhan, and when my son, Cameron, was younger, he acquired a nickname within his gang, that we have adopted.....C-dog!!!

I find it almost impossible to believe that my lovely boy will be 20, next week.....he is kind, funny....a bit of a charmer, and I am so proud of him.

I made his birthday card, based on this sketch
I used a Cuddly Buddly download for the paper, with a double layer of die cut pennant. Balloon die cuts, the lettering created using a sizzex alphabet that I've had for ages!

As I've used the sketch,  I would also like to enter the challenge.

I couldn't resist adding a photo of C-dog, himself....this is a favourite photo of mine, I think he looks particularly lovely wearing my fascinator.....

Buttons and Bows

Hello, my lovely blog chums, I am just adding the finishing touches to this post,  whilst settling down with a cup of tea ant "The Repair  Shop" on the telly.....this has become a firm favourite of ours this year.....I have a huge appreciation of the skill, care and workmanship that goes into each project....but I do struggle to get through an episode without becoming a blubbering mess.

I was lucky enough to be a Passion for Promarkers challenge winner, recently, and my prize was a visit to the wonderful online store of Fred, She Said...todays card features one of my chosen images, this is Emma

I am using Promarkers to colour, obvs, the sentiment is a mini stamp from Little Claires. The card stock, I think is called Mushroom and is from Crafters Companion. The pretty paper is a download from Polkdoodles. The border was made using a Nellie Snellen rectangular die, cut in half....to conceal the join I used the top section of a tag die. The flowers are a YNS die, with a collection of buttons from my stash, together with a little twine bow.

Bring On The Bling at CWTC

Hello there my lovely blog chums.....hope you've had a lovely weekend. Still feeling rough from having the wisdom tooth extraction, so we ended up phoning the out of hours service, and was diagnosed with an infection....hopefully now with the antibiotics,  I might actually start to feel a bit human again....

Anyway,  apologies for my whinging.....and onto more exciting news....we have a fabulous new challenge at
CHRISTMAS WITH THE CUTIES

and our theme is
 BRING ON THE BLING
Christmas has got to be the perfect time for lots of glittery, sparkly, blingage.....so I do hope that you will hop on over and join in.

Our fabulous sponsor for this challenge is DRS Designs

Our lucky winner will receive a $20 gift voucher for their wonderful onl

I am using one of the gorgeous images that D.R.S, very kindly gave the team to play with...I loved the wording on each heart, so I based my sentiment around these....who knows what sort of Christmas it will be,  this year, but I'm sure Family,  Love, Friends and Joy, will be at the centre of it all after the year we've had. My "BLING" comes to you by way of glittery enamel dots. The hearts are a Memory Box die cut.

Fairies, Fantasy and Crafty Friends ....

Good Morning to you my lovely blog chums......I very much hope you've had a good week. I had a trip to the dentist and a wisdom tooth extraction on Tuesday, and I've not felt great since....at first I just thought I was feeling sorry for myself but four days on and its still sore and achy......day and night, oh I can be a right miserable cow when I am tired!!!!

Anyway, on a much more cheery note.....we have a fabulous new challenge at Crafty Friends.....
Our theme this time is
FAIRIES AND FANTASY
With a theme like this, what an opportunity to let your imagination go wild! Me, being me, I  went to the Cute end of fairyland.....
I used  Dandelion Clock from Lili of the Valley, coloured with Promarkers and a good splodge of stickles on her wings. The papers are from Papermania, Lucy Cronwell pad (one of those situations where the papers are soooo yummy that you just can't bring yourself to use them,  but after 7 years you have to be brave enough to go for it!) also Papermania Capsule collection. To this section I added a  tiny rikrak and a scalloped edge border. Sentiment on tag, features happy, happy birthday font. I added a pretty die cut heart, and had die cut tiny white flowers, but they just didn't look right on their own.....neither did the buttons, but together, seemed to work fine.

I  do hope that you will hop on over and join us for this challenge.

I would also like to enter these challenges please:
As you like it favourite colour to pair with Pink
I love to use Pink and Greens together, as there is  so much versatility whether it be more earthy shades, or bright zesty or, as in this case with more of a minty/teal shade of green.

When Snowy Got Tagged

Hello there my lovely blog chums!
As I type this, I am resting in the armchair, following a trip to the dentist this morning and a wisdom tooth extraction. The anesthetic has yet to wear off, so everything feels a bit odd, my tongue really doesn't feel like it belongs in my mouth 😕

As a distraction, I finished this tag, first thing this morning....a couple of weeks ago I  got a set of tags dies, and I've played with them every day,  this features the largest of the set, and the smallest .....

I haven't used Snowy, from Penny Black for a while, and it sits perfectly on this size die cut. I have used Promarkers to colour.  I used a gingham off cut to add a tip to the tag, and used the smallest tag die, folded in half to create a ribbon loop. I added colour coordinated pearls.

Jasper in the Pink!

Good Morning to you all, my lovely blog chums .....I hope you had an enjoyable weekend. Our Cameron went away on holiday to Turkey, a couple of weeks ago, when he got back he stayed at my daughters for a week to "quarantine", and finally came home yesterday - bringing a suitcase full of laundry with him......thanks son!!!!!

So today I am here with my "A LITTLE EXTRA CUTIE-NESS" inspiration card, for our current challenge,  with The Cuties, just to remind you our theme is
HIP TO BE SQUARE
I used, Jasper With Flower, from Digistamp Boutique (do miss this wonderful store!). He is coloured with Promarkers, and with a little bit of gentle persuasion I managed to die cut this with his foot and the top of the flower "out of the box". I used faux stitched square dies, and embossed the bottom one for effect. Mini tag with sentiment. Gingham ribbon,

Still plenty of time to play along with the Cuties, so click here and hop on over.

The one with the Dotty Border

Good Morning to you my lovely blog chums.......as I type this I am sitting in my back garden, enjoying my first cup of tea of the day, a beautiful sunrise and the very welcome feeling of slightly cooler air.....another hot day is forecast, as is a thunderstorm, which I am quite looking forward to.

I do have a card to share today......one I've made for the box that I will, at some point donate to the PDSA shop. Hubby and I have volunteered for them for a couple of years now, and were out once a week collecting donations from people's homes....in light of the covid situation we are not able to do this, so I've turned to my craft desk as my way to do my bit.

Again, I've used this super cute mouse from LOTV, it is a little treat to colour.....and I have done so using Promarkers. The papers are from a Dovecraft pad, which I loved, and unfortunately had used up....then I found the same pad amongst my Mums stash and "persuaded" her to part with it, hehe. The dotty panel, is actually two off cuts so I embossed a little border to join them. Own sentiment, which features happy, happy birthday font. Added a die cut pennant, which I'd also embossed and die cut flowers with enamel dots.

Hip To Be Square with The Cuties

Hello there my lovely blog chums......I hope this finds you keeping well. Its been a little quieter here from me, over the last week or so, largely due to this spell of hot weather which hasn't really put me in the mood to craft so much. I've been dabbling with some gift tags, but that's about it really.

Anyway, we do have a great new challenge with The Cutie Pies,  that might well get you racing to your craft desk....

Our theme this time is
HIP TO BE SQUARE
(If you are of a certain age, like my good self, you may remember a "Huey Lewis and the News" record of the same name.....which I've continually been humming!!)

Our lovely sponsors for this challenge are our good friends at
Lee Holland  Designs

My own DT card features squares aplenty, to accompany this adorable bear from Lee Holland. He is coloured with Promarkers. For a square challenge, it had to be Gingham papers, and I found these two beauts in my scraps box. I added a mini square, and a wooden tree embellishment. I will add a more personalised sentiment, later in the year, closer to Christmas.

We really hope you will join us for this.....why not hop on over xx

Summer Colours & Crafty Friends

Hello there my lovely blog chums......pinch, and a punch for the first day of the month!!! Can you actually believe its August already? I could have sworn that we were only halfway through June.......despite the awfulness of these times, this year does seem to be flying by.

So, we have a fabulous new challenge today with
CRAFTY FRIENDS
and the theme is colours from the Summer palette

I actually made my DT card, at the end of March, in an attempt to use the lock down time to be super organised and get ahead with my DT work.

I am using an adorable Owl digi, from Lee Holland Designs, coloured with Promarkers. This was then mounted onto a mini doily. The papers used are from a Serif paper pad. I also used a cloud die with a stamped sentiment, a wee flower die, together with a button die.

I do hope that you will hop on over and join in with this challenge.
