Summertime Fun with Crafty Friends

Hello my lovely blog friends, hope you've had a great week and are enjoying your weekend so far......it has been a very challenging week for me, but more of that later, first I must tell you about our great new challenge at
our theme this time is
Summer Time
and I chose the image for my card as I thought this really sums up what fun the simmer can bring.

Our lovely sponsors are:

and

if you visit our challenge you can find out more about our sponsors including the prize info, and also check out the wonderful cards from the rest of the DT

my DT card features:
  • Rusty's Wagon from Sparkle and Sprinkle
  • coloured with promarkers
  • splodge of glossy accents
  • paper lurking in scrapbox, I think is My Minds Eye - oldie
  • kraft
  • own sentiment
So like I was saying earlier, I have had a really challenging week - a few weeks ago I was persuaded at work to take a training course to drive the two fork lift trucks, I was apprehensive when I started but even so I can honestly say that I underestimated how difficult I would actually find it. The first three days were spent learning the reach truck which lifts higher and basically moves sideways. I gave it my best shot, but absolutely hated it!!!! I just couldn't get my head around the steering and the more and more I was getting frustrated with myself then I was forgetting how to carry out the maneuvers. It didn't help, either, that our training was being carried out in a delivery yard that we share with a Pets at home, Carpetright and also a PC world store, so it was all very stop, start anyway! Midway Thursday I hit a wall - mentally, not physically!!! - and had a bit of a meltdown. It was agreed with by boss to terminate the course, and that was that. I don't like giving up on anything and still feel disappointed, but sometimes, I guess, some things just are not right for you.....maybe the go-kart in this image would be a much more suitable method of transport for me

  2. Poor Lisa! Well you tried so I think you should be proud of that in itself...and I think you can learn to live with the fact you'll never be a skilled fork lift driver...don't think I'd like to do that either! Love today's card though so I think your energies are better spent in your craft room, Jx

  4. Hi Lisa lovely card. Lisa don't put yourself down my darling we all find things too hard at some point in our lives just think of all you have achieved, I know I would not be able to cope with driving and manoeuvring a fork lift truck. Take Care Love Alison

  5. A super card, such a fun image and great design.
It sounds like you had an horrendous time Lisa, I don't think I would be any good at driving a forklift either - you gave it your best shot, no one can ask any more of you.

  6. Hello Lisa
Thanks for making such a fun card for our Challenge. Sounds like you need a few glasses of wine after the week you have just had... dont put yourself down, I know FLT aren't easy to drive, at least you tried and had a go; which a lot of people wouldn't have even attempted... Hope you feel more positive very soon xx
