Dont be afraid of white spaces!

This has become a bit of a mantra for me at the moment, since i've been taking part in the weekly Less is More challenge, i've found myself doing more and more "clean & simple", this is my card for this weeks challenge, which is a receipe "three squares":
squares were cut using x-cut punch, have added papermania brads, wording done on pc (arial & scriptina fonts)

How can a tag become a bag???

I know that we all try to think of imaginative uses for our dies and punches to get the most out of them, here's one I came up with yesterday:-

Took this Die (large sizzix, scallop tag)

this is about 9cms in length, so scored a fold at 3cm, another at 58mm and another at 62mm. then folded to form the required shape.

Had already threaded some silver mini beads on some thin craft wire and had this part attached to sticky foam tape and this was then attached inside the shape. Used a silver brad for decoration and another bit of sticky foam tape to secure down the top flap......and this is what I went on to make with it:

backing paper is from a Wild Rose Studio CD, have used GoKreate Frilly Square, wording done on pc, font is called Zipty-do.

I thought it made quite a cute little topper, what do you think?

Am entering this in Patties Creations "make your own embellishment challenge

Happy Sautrday from me!

Hi all! My kids are now on half term, and I've taken a week off from work, so am now having a much needed break! Not too much on the agenda for next week, lots of doggy walks, tidy up the garden (weather permitting), might repaint my kitchen walls (got the paint, just need the inclination, lol) lots of games of Just Dance on the Wii and hopefully a whole lot of crafting time - actually I might be looking forward to getting back to work for a rest, lol!

Anyway here is a card I made a couple of weeks ago, it was a birthday card for Sandra, one of my lovely docrafts friends.
The image was donated (but I believe it comes from Wild Rose Studio, it is coloured with my promarkers, the lush and yummy backing paper was "liberated" from my mums craft stash, the sentiment is one of my own creations.
Just before I go, you may notice I've given myself yet another little bloggy makeover, from someone who works in a DIY store it is just as well I dont feel the need to change my wallpapers at home as much as I do here, lol!
Have a great weekend all xx

One Layer.....hmmmm not easy!

Really enjoyed making my last "clean & simple" card for the Less is More challenge, so I couldnt wait to get cracking on the next one. The theme this time is "one layer". Have to 'fess up, that I did find this really hard, torn between not wanting the card to look boring and plain, but still sticking with the C&S style. Hope i've not done too badly with this one. It was created using serif page plus s.e, printed and Mint coloured sticky pearls added to embellish.

Happy Valentines Day to you all!

To be honest, my hubby and I dont bother with the cards, flowers, choccies anymore, but for those that do, I hope you're having a romantic day!

One little card to share with you today, this image was "donated" a while ago, and I found it by chance, this weekend. Have seen it a lot of cards recently, isnt she pretty! backing paper is an from an old papermania stack, MS border punch used, the "thank you" is an embossing folder, flower from stash box and this cute little button was part of some bits I ordered last week from The Ribbon Girl.

ooooh a blog award!

This wonderful blog award was given to me by my good friend and fellow doccrafter Kay, thank you this, apparently we have a couple of conditions for this........

"You have been tagged, if you want to participate, create a post to upload this LOVEBLOG image, you should also blog a link to the person that gave you the award and then inform them that you have accepted their award. You can then pass this award onto 3-5 of your favourite blogs.

The aim of this is to bring unknown, but great blogs to light, so please dont tag soemone with other 3,000 followers.

So who to pass this award onto...hmm thats the tricky bit but I have chosen:

ROSIE
HAZEL
KAREN

not done one of these before, so hope i've done it properly!

One happy little.....daughter!

Big smiles all around today as my gorgeous Megan returned from her appointment with the orthodontist minus the braces!
before

after
to be fair, I think the smiles were more of grimace as the surgery is on a busy main road.....and it had just started to rain, but even so I think she looks just fab. xx
