SSW2 - 113

Hello there, my lovely blog chums.....hope you're having a great week so far! Hasn't it been lovely to see some glorious sunshine in the UK this week. It has been a busy week work wise, so I am a little late posting this, but hey-ho

So we have a new challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday
,,,,and this is my card, based on this brilliant sketch
our lovely sponsor is

It is a really versatile sketch, so I hope you will be inspired to join in with us, why not hop on over to also check out the other fantastic DT cards.......click here

I used the Framed Penguins image from Dilly Beans, which I coloured with Promarkers. The papers are from a Payper Box pick and mix. Used my wee fave "Baby Lexi" font for the sentiment.

We treated ourselves to another trip to the West End, last night and saw the magnificent....
Kinky Boots!

This was on Megan's wishlist and I didn't know very much about it....absolutely loved it though! Very funny and very sassy...but at the same time very moving and touching too. Another show that I would highly recommend.

addicted to cas - pink
So, as I mentioned earlier, we had another weekend away in the caravan, bit of a mixed bag with the weather, but was still able to enjoy a couple of drives out in the lovely Kent countryside......living in a busy town it is so easy to forget that such beautiful scenery, and charming little villages are just a short drive away and when the sun started shining on Saturday we decided to visit a little spot that we found on our last weekend away. Hothfield is a little village just outside of Ashford and is home to the most wonderful Heathland Nature Reserve. Obviously there is an abundance of plant life, tree's, birds that sort of thing which are wonderful enough, but there are also ponies roaming wild and some cattle too including this absolute beauty that we met up with on our walk.

Having seen plenty of Highland cattle on our various trips to Scotland, but never this close up....so I feel incredibly privileged.

Anyway, its back to normal life and work today, so I will say cheerio for now!

Have I got news for you......

Hello there and thank you so much for visiting me today. In response to my post title, Yes I have got news for you.....so I do hope you will bear with me whilst I witter on!

Ok, where to start......so you know that feeling when you're really happy with your DT work, you feel like you're on top of everything and you're actually really enjoying it - then you notice that one of the challenges that you always look out for, and look forward to, is holding a DT Call.....and that little voice at the back of your head says "why not give it a go" - well I had one of those moments, and guess what, I was only invited to join the team!!!! So I am now very excited to announce that.......

I have for you today, my very first card as a member of this team, so lets start with the all important sketch
we are very kindly being sponsored Digistamp Boutique

and here is my card
MY DT CARD FEATURES:

In other news, we have a new addition to the family.....not another dog or small person but a 4 berth caravan! When I was young we had an Alpine Sprite, and had some wonderful holidays with it and these memories are now very special to me. For many years it had been a pipe dream for Alistair and I to have a little caravan of our own and we recently decided to take the plunge. We decided to be fairly sensible and go for a decent second hand one, while we are finding our camping feet.....and we have just had our first little weekend away with it. I am happy to report that despite a few hiccups getting the awning built up (this involved a fair amount of headscratching, staring at diagrams, glaring at each other, throwing poles down in a strop, sulking in the car for 10 minutes, more head scratching and then almost bursting into tears of joy when an old chap shuffled across the field, having seen us struggling for a while and ended up helping is put it together in no time at all) we actually had a really enjoyable and very relaxing time.

as you can see Nippy is already taken with this

we were staying at a campsite in a beautiful part of Kent surrounded by endless countryside, so had some wonderful walks with the dogs.

We are hoping to have another long weekend away in the next few weeks, so maybe I will have more tales to share with you.

If all this wasn't enough, I was also lucky enough to be the winner of the April Lili of the Valley challenge winner and I have mentally spent my voucher several times over - I love that LOTV now have digi stamps too.

If you're still with me.....thank you for taking the time to read my ramblings, have a great day xx

It was a real nod back in time, and I thoroughly enjoyed it - great cast....and must add, that although we has booked the cheapest seats up in the top balcony - when we got there last night our seats were upgraded to middle of the Royal Circle, so we had an amazing view too - fantastic evening!

Happy Mothers Day!

Thank you for dropping in today......if you are celebrating Mother's Day today, then I hope you have a lovely, lovely day. This will be my first Mothers day with one of my kids away, as Megan is still away at Uni until next weekend, then she'll be home for Easter.....sending big hugs to those that are not able to be with their Mum's today. I am looking forward to spending time with my own mother this afternoon. As the weather is a little more agreeable this weekend, I may even venture out into the front garden and make a start on the weed attack that I have been avoiding!

A few days ago I was trawling through a folder of digi stamps and I landed upon this absolute Cutie from Di's that I have had in my collection for quite a few years now, it's always been one that I return to time after time, but it was well overdue a printing and colouring! I went upstairs yesterday to put away a pile of ironing - got distracted....this card is the result, and it wasn't till I went to bed last night that I remembered the pile of clothes still waiting patiently to be put away!!!

Sending Smiles

Good Morning to you all, and I wish you a very Happy Thursday. It's a cold and damp morning here, and I am blogging now, as a bit of a housework dodge....the washing up, the laundry waiting to go in the machine, the wheely bin waiting to be put out, the dusting, hoovering and ironing, can wait till after I've had a cuppa, right!

Enough of that gloomy talk, as my most recent cards have all been DT work, I decided to add a "just for fun" card.....and this was a fun card to make. I was recently lucky enough to win a Little Miss Muffet voucher and this in one of my chosen digi's.....she is a Polka Dot Pal, by the name of Sally and is a little treat to colour. The papers came from a pad that I got in The Works just before I went away to Scotland, and it wasn't until last Thursday that I'd actually had time and opportunity to play - then I opened the paper pad an instantly had that "oh my gosh, these are far to pretty to use, I must save them and stroke them forever" feeling.....I had to push past this feeling, and like I say, I really enjoyed making this card.

Today's card features:
  • Polka Dot Pal, Sally from Little Miss Muffet
  • coloured with promarkers
  • Dovecraft paper stack from The Works
  • balloon die was a magazine freebie
  • sentiment from LC designs
I would like to enter these challenges:
Passion for Promarkers challenge - 387 Girl Power
Little Miss Muffet - challenge #159
As you like it - favourite colouring medium - for me it would have to be my trusty Promarkers. When I first started adding my own "colouring" to my cards, I tried watercolour pencils and paints with mixed results, then I started to see the beautiful results people were creating using the likes of Promarkers and Copics, so I took the plunge, bought myself a starter bundle of pro's and have never looked back. I love the ease of use, the range of available colours....and whilst I would be the first to admit, I still have a long way to go with my blending and shading - I do feel confident and happy using these.

have a great day all, and thanks again for your visit xx

Dies and Digi's part 2

Hello there, my lovely Blog chums, hope you have had a terrific weekend. So it wasn't the best weather-wise, but maybe this gave you an excuse to hibernate with at your craft desk, lol. As it was really windy here, I abandoned my Saturday afternoon plans to mow the front lawn, and de-weed the flower beds in favour of a bit of colouring and rugby watching.

So we are now in week 2 of the latest Cutie Pie challenge, with our theme of
Dies and Digi's
our lovely sponsors this time are:

who also provided the team with some completely adorable stamps to play with - thank you!

  • coloured with promarkers
  • Dies used: Spelldinders lacy circle, Spelldinders oval, Marianne Designs Butterfly, Magnolia Doohickey Lovely Fence and border

Crafty Friends Challenge - For a Child

Hello there, and thank you so much for visiting me today......hope you've had a great week. Had a pretty busy week since we got back from Scotland last weekend. I always detest the first day back at work after a holiday - it's a "not being able to nip off for a cup of tea, whenever the fancy takes" thing! Anyway, survived the week, the laundry is now all done and dusted and the house is pretty much ship-shape so hoping for a restful weekend.....and very much looking forward to watching the England vs Scotland 5 Nations game this afternoon - I have absolutely no idea of the rules (are there actually any?) of Rugby, but I love the atmosphere and find it such a compelling thing to watch.

Anyway, less waffle and more Crafty Friends news - Yep, it's time for our next challenge and the theme is:
For a Child
our lovely sponsors are

who also very kindly provided some gorgeous images for the team to work with.

I chose the adorable Chloe with HulaHoop digikit......this is the first time I have used these kits, and I have to say that they are absolutely perfect if you need a card at short notice - everything is done for you (and beautifully done too) although even if you have time on your hands the components are fab to play around with. My card will be one of the Birthday cards for Erin, so I added her age - when I decide whether it will be for a Grand daughter or Niece, I will add a sentiment later. I took two of the flower components of the kit to create my own backing paper using serif.

Really hope you will join us for this challenge, why not click here to check out the other gorgeous DT cards and join in with the fun!

I have added some photos from this trip to my Facebook page, if you're interested in having a nosey, and I may well add one or two to a future post here.....at the moment I am a few days late adding my  DT card for Christmas with the Cuties, so that will be the matter at hand for now.......
Yep, so our third challenge is now underway and our theme is
No Man Like a Snowman
I must admit, I prefer a snowman that you can print out and colour....rather than one that you have to faff about in the cold with, so I really enjoyed making this card.

Huge Thanks to our lovely sponsor
for providing both, a lovely prize for our winner, and some adorable images for the team to play with.

My DT card features:
  • Build a Snowman - from the Paper Nest Dolls
  • coloured with Promarkers
  • a little blob of Stickles Frosted Lace to enhance the Fur trims and another little blob of glossy accents to enhance to glass jar
  • Dotty paper from Anna Marie designs
  • Snowflake paper was a magazine download - used Serif to change the colour tone to compliment
  • wooden star and acrylic dot from stash
I would like to enter this into these challenges:
A Gem of a Challenge - Use 3B's - Blue, "Build a Snowman" and Banner

Thank you so much for visiting and enjoy whatever you're up to....for me it will be a day of post holiday laundry, shopping and house cleaning before I head back to work tomorrow - lucky me!

Helloo, thank you for visiting today...hope you've had a lovely weekend!

Claudia Loves Christmas......and so do I!

Good Morning my lovely blog chums, thank you so much for the very kind comments on my post yesterday as I now go headlong into year 8 of Blogging!

I am feeling very Happy that it's Friday - the company I work for (in the real World) recently changed my working hours, so I decided to look upon this as an opportunity to reduce the hours and days that I do and I now no longer work on a Thursday or Friday. This is only my second week of doing this but last week was brilliant - having the extra couple of days off, I was completely on top of the housework, the dogs had longer walks, I felt soooo much less tired and when I went back into work on Monday I felt much happier in myself and actually enjoyed the three days that I'm in. I also managed to spend time last weekend making a wedding card for an order (note to self - don't forget to take a photo!!) and doing a bit of colouring.....a little bit of which, is featured on today's card......
I have used Claudia Loves Christmas, from Little Miss Muffet digi stamps - isn't she adorable....and is an absolute treat to colour, so will be appearing here a lot more over the course of the year.

Today's card features:

  • Claudia Loves Christmas
  • coloured with promarkers
  • glossy accents
  • Stardust Stickles
  • Martha Stewart border punch - oldie, can't recall the name
  • sentiment created on Serif page plus
  • Doodlebug Twine
  • magazine freebie paper
  • button from stash
I would like to enter these challenges:
In the Pink - Dies/Punches (only the one punch used, but hoping that the Pinkness makes us for it!)
ABC Christmas Challenge - C & D creature and dimension - my Creature name also starts with a C and I hope that the button adds Dimension

Cheerio for now, and have a lovely day xx

7 Today!

Hi, hope you're having a great week so far!

I am having a little Celebration here, as today is my...........

It doesn't seem like that long ago, that I was on a week off from work, quite a few of my friends from the Docrafts forum were already blogging, so I decided to take the plunge - and I am so happy that I did!!! This little part of my PC has become such an important part of my life, over these years my life has seen some incredibly happy times, and then some not so happy times too but blogging has been a constant, and in a weird cyber-y sort of way has been an arm around my shoulder throughout. When I first started I never thought I'd be "brave" enough to enter a blog challenge - but I did, and it was fab and eventually I even won one, then I never thought I'd be "good enough" to be offered a Design Team position, but I did get the offer of a spot - and then another one shortly after, I'm sure my 7 years ago brain, would have exploded at the thought of running TWO challenges -  and yet here we are now with the Cutie Pie challenge doing fantastically well and even getting a mention in Papercraft Inspirations magazine and Christmas with the Cuties growing in popularity and just about to have challenge #3. I have been fortunate and blessed to have made some amazing and wonderful friends, through this world of blogging,,,,,and if I could have one wish I would visit you all in person to give you the biggest of hugs, but I hope you will accept my Thanks and virtual hugs. Thank you also to this little blog for being more than a URL to me.

My blog name sums me up perfectly, I am very much One Happy Little Crafter - and I have much to be Happy about and Thankful for.

There really was only one theme I could use for today's card..........

Today's card features:
  • Dan with flowers, from Digistamp Boutique
  • coloured with promarkers
  • older papers from stash - not entirely sure of "make"
  • ribbons from stash
  • sentiment from LC designs
  • Dovecraft acrylic dome stickers

I would like to enter:
Thank you for stopping by today, and also if you have ever visited me over the last 7 years - your vists, lovely comments and support mean the world to me xx
