Christmas in July

Hello my lovely friends, hope this finds you fine and well and enjoying your weekend!

So my "Blog More" New Year's Resolution has gone a little astray recently, work has been busy, Megan finished her A levels and has been at home since the end of June and now Cameron is off on summer holidays too, and the gorgeous weather have all been keeping me away from my craft desk..but...I am mindful about how quickly the months pass, so yesterday, I decided to have a Craft-ernoon and get another card or two ready for Christmas.

A friend of my Mother's recently gave her a bundle of  unused "magazine freebies" - stamps, dies and paper pads, and we have had a wonderful time sifting through these goodies.....I have used one of the stamps on today's card:
Today's card features:
  • Tiddlyinks Wryn stamp
  • coloured with Promarkers
  • blue dotty card from Anna marie designs
  • plaid DP from The Range
  • Sentiment from LC designs
  • Wooden embellishment bought at craft show
  • dovecraft twine
I would like to enter:
i love promarkers - Christmas in July

- love, love, love this dotty card from Anna marie designs, I have it in several colours and they are just so versatile - they go with everything and look fab either as a section piece or the star of the show!  I have been getting my supplies from the Sincerely Yours shows...it is always my first port of call, and is factored into my spending budget!

crafty hazelnuts christmas - anything Christmas goes

sketch saturday - use a sketch from the archive

Before I go, I just wanted to introduce a new family member to you all.
this is Tilly!
As many of you know we lost my Dad about 18 months ago and for quite a while now Mum has been talking about having a "companion " around the house. We took Mum to Battersea dog's home at Brands Hatch and we're really impressed with how well they cared for the dogs there and how thorough they were in making sure that the dog and my Mum were right for each other. They have been together for 10 days now, and so far everything is going well. Tilly is a Patterdale Terrier and is the same age, in dog years, as my Mum so they are pretty much two "old dear's" rattling around the house together!

Cheerio for now xx

Polka Dots and Pastels part I

Hello, and thank you so much for visiting today - hope you had a great weekend.
Had a wonderful day out in London with my lovely daughter, Megan, on Friday. It was a belated birthday treat.....and I was told to make the most of it as, come the autumn, she will be a poor student! Anyway, she had booked theatre tickets a while ago, and then we decided to make a day of it with a trip to London Zoo. Now, I get that not everyone agree's with Zoo's, especially those in cities, but the ZSL staff take good care of the animals they care for and seem to be knowledgeable and there is a good emphasis on conservation, In the evening we went see Mamma Mia, which was absolutely fantastic, I have loved the film for some time now and it was amazing to see the show - the atmosphere was great, and the entire audience was up and singing and dancing at the end....and I have been singing since!!!

I am here today, with my DT card for

Christ-mouse in July

Hello there, hope you had a lovely weekend!
It has been a really busy time for me, so sadly not too much blogging - we have a stock take at work on Wednesday  and, as anyone who has worked in retail will tell you, this means a busy. busy time for all involved. I needed to de-stress a bit at the weekend, so hubby, the kids, the dogs and I have a run down to the coast - we had a smashing walk along the seafront and pier, then fish and chips for tea and rounded off with a session on the 2p shove machines in the amusement arcade.

I probably ought to be ironing or hoovering now, but I spotted a challenge that I really wanted to play along with - then realized that I had only one day left to do so, and let's face it, this is much more fun!

my card features:

  • Jasper and the Christmas Pud from Digistamp boutique
  • coloured with promarkers
  • sentiment from LC designs
  • Cheery Lynn border die
  • blue dotty card from Annamarie designs
  • gingham ribbon from The Ribbon Girl (I think?)
  • button from stash
