A little bit of James!

Hello again! Hope you're having a lovely weekend.

I am massively jealous today, as my daughter and her a couple of her friends are off to do the Harry Potter Studio tour.......its been something I've wanted to do, but haven't quite got there yet. To console myself, I decided to delay the ironing in favour of a bit of me and James time!

My hubby got me this stamp for Christmas and I have to say it is fab to play with......I always love the crispness of the LOTV stamps and the furriness of all of the James images is just adorable.
This card features:
  • LOTV Laptop James
  • coloured with promarkers, with added Sakura white gelly pen for highlighting and a very subtle bit of pink chalk on the cheeks.
  • green gingham paper was a download
  • Have used an Embossalicious embossing folder to create sentiment
  • section of xcut star die to create fishtail
  • also used a Crafts and Me dotty embossing folder
I would like to enter:
Passion for Promarkers - check it out
dis digi designs - lots of green

Ok, well the pile of towels, school uniform and bedding isn't getting any smaller, so I supposed I'd better just man up (or should it be MUM up) and get stuck about the ironing :(

enjoy the rest of the weekend xx

  • Have used a spellbinders fancy oval die, also sizzix tag die and joy craft flower dies
  • embossed sentiment

Measurements for my Fancy Fold card

Thank you for the lovely comments on this card, on the actual post itself. I have had two emails about the measurements and sizes of the card, so in case anyone else is interested..........

I had found a template for this shape but for whatever reason my folds didn't seem to be in the right place and my card looked squiffy.......so after a bit of trial, error and a few sheets of A4 screwed up in rage, lol, I finally managed to make it work using my own sizes. I have attached a photo of the card laid flat with relevant measurements of horizontal length and vertical height. The matting and layering inside of the card was pretty much measured by eye.

I used a Martha Stewart border punch for the edge of the front panel. It had been my intention to go all the way up with the punch but I found when it levelled off on the back panel it just didn't look right. Can't remember the "name" of the punch as I've had it for ages, but I thought it worked well on this card as the pattern isn't too deep.
Any questions, please feel free to ask xx

Feeling Sketchy!

Hello there and Happy Friday to you, hope its been a good day.....we've enjoyed another lovely sunny day today and the weekend seems to be promising good weather too.

Went to Cameron's parents evening last night, and I was pleasantly surprised....at home he is a typical 14yr old boy (a bit smelly and would rather be kicking a ball or playing call of duty on the playstation than reading or doing homework!) However, all of his teachers were full of praise about how engaged and enthusiastic he is at school and how they have high hopes for him as he continues with his GCSE work over the next couple of years. Both of my kids are massively competitive and whilst Megan excelled with 10 A's and 2 B's, Cameron would love to get even just one A* to better her!!! Her ladyship is working really hard with her A levels. She is studying Maths, Psychology, Physics and Ethics so she certainly hasn't chosen easy route, but is enjoying the challenge and is already looking at potential Universities........eeek, where did my little babies go????

Anyway, family rambling to one side and on with todays card. I was in the mood for a sketch this afternoon, and found a fab one at Sweet Sketch Wednesday (2)

this card features:
  • Bedtime Sophia from Digistamp Boutique
  • coloured with promarkers
  • Doodlebug Twine "cupcake"

a bit of simple furriness!

Hello there, hope your week has got off to a good start!

Managed to squeeze a bit of crafting time in last night, and seeing as I'd really enjoyed making the Owl card in my previous post, I decided to keep with the CAS. I'd also spotted that the current theme at Less is More is "this makes you happy", so the choice of image for this card was a proper no-brainer. I chose Mac from DSB as he looks soooo much like my gorgeous westie Nippy......and that little four legged bundle of fluff and mischief  makes me happy every day.
When you get home from work, every day he is delighted to greet you and I've spilt many a cup of tea because he had decided that its time for a cuddle and he'll settle down beside you and nudges his nose under your elbow!

this card features:
  • Mac from Digistamp boutique
  • lightly highlighted (if that is such a thing?) with warm grey promarkers
  •  cheery lynn border die
  • ribbon and button from stash
I would like to enter this into these challenges:

thanks again for popping in, its always lovely to know that you folks are there and as always I do thank you for your lovely comments xx

Simply for Mum!

Hello there, and thanks for visiting me today......hope you're having a lovely weekend. Yesterday was such a grim, damp and bleh sort of day but when I was woken by sunshine this morning I wasted no time in getting up and about and I am now enjoying a cuppa having just got back in from taking the dogs out for a lovely stroll along beside the river in Rochester.......we even had the cathedral bells chiming as our "soundtrack".

So I noticed yesterday that the new A Gem of a challenge theme is Clean and Simple......this prompted big smiles as I had been planning on using a particular PG digi on one of the Mothers day cards I will be making. As my hubby is away for a few days, Megan was at a sleepover and Cameron was busy killing whatever species it is on Call of Duty, yesterday afternoon turned into a crafty one!

this card features:
  • Owl in hat from Pink Gem - used the pre coloured image as time saver, but also the colours are fab anyway!
  • faux stitch and sentiments created on serif page plus (times new roman and great vibe fonts)
  • pearls from stash
I would like to enter these challenges:

big hugs from me.......enjoy the rest of the weekend, oh and Happy St David's Day to my welsh followers xx
