The Girl with the Flowers in her hair

Good Morning, my lovely blog chums.....I do hope that you are enjoying the weekend, its certainly been a little cooler out.  I live at the top of a hill, overlooking the River Medway, and we always get something of a breeze, whipping up the hill.....during the night it seems to be really blowy out there!

Today's card features the second of the images that were my prize from Star Jam Lines - there is a link to there store on yesterday's post.......
Kept the design simple, to fit the sketch, below.  This super-cute Mother and Baby digi, is coloured with promarkers, and cut out with a faux stitched square die. I used a couple of papers from my snippets box, two sweet little buttons, and the baby word die, is a old Sizzix thinlets die, that i've had for ages........oh, and on that subject, when I dropped my Mum's groceries to her this week, I snuck upstairs to see if she still had this lil beaut in her back bedroom, and if it still worked.......

the answer to both was YES! This was my Sizzix machine - one of the old ones, that weighs an absolute tonne to move around, and the cutting plate wasn't that large, so it eventually got upgraded to a Big Shot.....but, there was something quite lovely about pulling the handle up and down and shimmying the plate along to cut. I think I got this for Christmas 2006 - can't believe how long i've been cardmaking!!!

Anyway, I would like to enter these challenges:

The one with the Gnome

Hello, my lovely blog chums.....hope you've had a good week!
It was my birthday on Thursday, and, as lockdown down birthdays go, I had a fabulous day! Lazy morning, with a leisurely bath followed by lounging in the sun in the garden, later in the afternoon we broke out of shielding for a while and went to my daughter's house, she had got the paddling pool out in the garden, and we each had a turn to socially distanced dip! Dinner was a takeaway from a local pub, and very yum it was too. I was thoroughly spoilt too, hubby had treated me to a new Samsung tablet a few weeks ago, my mum  had given me money to get summer clothes and Promarkers, and Megan and her boyfriend got me a Raskog trolley from IKEA....looking forward to getting that built at weekend! So fab day, all in all.

Another treat this week came from winning a Passion for Promarkers challenge, and receiving my prize from Star Jam  Lines....I couldn't wait to print out this adorable Gnome with his candle.....what a Cutie, right? The paper came from a stack that I picked up in The Works, back in February. I used my trusty Promarkers to colour. The sentiment is my own, using Cinnamon  Cake font, the Snowflake dies are from Marianne creatables and Joanna Sheen. I hadn't come across Star Jam Lines before, but there are some fantastic digi's, so do go take a look.....

Don't get me wrong, I do like to use a rubber stamp....sometimes its preferable to switching the lap top on, and my printer is quite fussy about anything thicker than 160gsm BUT, the jeopardy of rubber stamping - one false move, and you've smudged or you've failed to ink a crucial part of the stamp, makes me prefer Digi stamping - also the cost, and readily available-ness

Good Morning my lovely blog chums.....I hope that your week has got itself off to a good start. My husband was happy with yesterday's news that our "shielding" is to be paused at the beginning of August....this came as a little glimmer of hope, in what has been such a difficult time.

Anyway, we have a wonderful new challenge at

I decided to use "Blitz", and used Promarkers to colour. My two paper combo came from a magazine freebie download featuring gorgeous  snowflakes, together with a snowy embossed paper. I used a Magnolia die cut fence, which I attacked with frosted ice stickels. The sentiment features Cinnamon cake font.

The one with the post box

Hello my lovely blog chums......I hope you had been having a good week. I broke out of lockdown yesterday afternoon to pop out to pick up a couple of Birthday gifts, fortunately the retail park was quiet so I  also nipped into M&S for a bag of Percy Pig sweets and a fancy bar of chocolate......gotta have a few lockdown treats, right?

I decided that it was about time that I added a Christmas card to my box.....
For occasions like Christmas, when you might want to make a batch of cards, I do quite like a pre-printed digi and I recently treated myself to this little sweetie from LOTV. My card is based on sketch, and I added a snowflake border section to look after the twine. The tag die cut, is one of the old Sizzix thick red dies.....it was one of my first ones, and I was overjoyed with it, when I bought it!

The one with James and the flower

Hello my lovely blog chums.....hope you've had a good day!
So I was a brave little soldier at the dentist today.....unfortunately I am going to need further treatment on my wisdom tooth, but I'll panic about that when I get to it....for now, I'm feeling better and hopefully this will bring a good night's sleep tonight!

Anyway,  on to today's card
I have used my bear crush, James, today.....he is coloured with Promarkers and I fussy cut him. I used a magnolia sweet fence die, to create the border, to which I added a heart button. The flower is a wee die, and I used an ivy die to create the stem. I used a cloud die, cut out and also embossed. The sentiment tag is from LOTV, and I finished with a couple of pearls.

Early days in lockdown I suffered a broken tooth, it niggled for a few days, but then was fine until last week, when it reaaaally started to ache. The One with Daisy and the doily

Hello my lovely blog chums.....
I wasn't planning on doing this post until tomorrow morning, but Alistair is watching a Bond film downstairs - i'm a bit "seen one, seen them all" where James Bond is concerned, so I left him to it, and decided to do this instead. Hope you had an enjoyable Saturday.......we took the dogs for a longer walk today, we have a park with lovely views over the river, the castle and the cathedral, and it was quite pleasant sitting in the sunshine enjoying this view.

I also finished this card today, I knew it needed "something" which turned out to be the butterflies, it just took me a couple of days to figure that out, lol!
I used the gorgeous Daisy, from Sugar Nellie - another oldie, but one I will never tire of using. She is coloured with promarkers, and have paper-pieced her top to match the pretty yellow paper, which comes from Kaiser craft Sweet Pea collection. The blue dotty card comes from Limetree crafts. I used a scalloped circle die, together with a doily. The sentiment was from digistamp boutique, which I cut with a fancy tag. I used a scalloped edge border punch from Xcut, which I managed to flip over to do the other side - and for once, I managed to get it pretty much even. On this section, I used a ribbon and pearl slider. I cut a scalloped circle into quarters to add at the bottom, and then finally the die cut butterflies.

The one with the Cookies

Hello my lovely blog chums......I hope that this finds you well.
Not enjoying this change in weather, this week, lockdown seems much more tolerable when you're able to sit in the sunshine.

Most of my recent posts have featured "old favourites", but today's card features a brand new digi.....isn't it sweet, I can only imagine what sort of mischief these two could be cooking up together, lol!
This is a new release from LOTV, and was an absolute treat to colour...I have used Promarkers to colour, and cut out with a faux stitched stitched square die, then a scalloped square die. The papers are from Limetree crafts. The base card was embossed with a  dotty folder from Crafts Too. The sentiment tag is also from LOTV, for finishing touches, I added a cute dotty button, twine and an enamel dot.

The one with the glossy balloon

Good Morning my lovely blog chums........hope that you are having a good week,  and all is fine and well with you.  Can you believe its been nearly 80 DAYS since we went into lockdown.....which put me in mind of Phineas Fogg.....I'd be happy with just a trip to the coast at the moment, never mind a trip around the world,  lol

One thing about lockdown that I am enjoying, is the extra craft time! I have no idea at all  how much longer I will be furloughed for, so I am making the most of it,  whilst I can.

Today's card is based on a sketch.....

I used a sweet little Bugaboo digi for this, which I've coloured with Promarkers. The sentiment is my own creation using Unkempt font. The balloon die is a magazine freebie, also coloured with Promarkers and coated with glossy accents. I used a Mama Elephant cloud die, and created border with a faux stitched die, and a small scalloped edge die.....finally added a cute little button.

The one with the beer!

Good Morning my lovely blog chums, hope you had a good week!

I don't always make the hubby a Father's Day card, but with time on my hands at the moment, I  decided to.....

I  used, yet another oldie, Alf with Beer from Digistamp Boutique (I think both the hair line and the waistline are a similarly here.....hehehe). He is coloured with Promarkers, with a little dollop of glossy accents on his beer tankard.  The  paper is from another rediscovered oldie, printable set from Cuddly Buddy. Own sentiment using Cinnamon Cake font. Added an embossed panel and a few die cut stars.

The Wedding One

Good Morning my lovely blog chums.......I hope that this finds you well, and keeping your chin up as much as you can.

I am trialling the new blogger doow-berry today, so here's hoping I can fathom it........

I recently trawled through some old digi stamps and rediscovered this super cute image that I'm using on today's card....

I believe it was a Birdie Brown digi......I have used Promarkers to colour. I used faux stitched square dies, together with a scalloped edge squared die. Also, precious hearts die from Memory Box, and a cute lil' sentiment die.  The dotty card comes from Annemarie designs, sticky pearls to complete.

The one with just a sentiment

Good Morning to you, my lovely blog chums......I hope you had a good weekend.

Something a little bit different from me today.....no digi or rubber stamp to be seen!!!! As much as I love them, its good to let other elements be the "star" of the card......

The pretty papers are from a pad, from The Works, the embossing folder sentiment was a magazine freebie, the border die is from Oyster stamps and the flower die is from YNS. I was rummaging through my buttons trying to colour match with the papers, and these three little mint coloured buttons were on my desk, left from a previous project.....I wasn't sure if they would work, but I'm glad I tried.
