Christmas with Crafty Friends

Good morning to you my lovely blog chums!

So, how are you getting along with your Christmas cards this year? If you're needing a nudge in that direction, then come on over and join us at The CRAFTY FRIENDS CHALLENGE
Our theme is
CHRISTMAS

for me, using this Penny Black "snowy" is as much of part of my Christmas preparations, as peeling and chopping veggies on Christmas eve with a glass of port and lemon beside me! Looking for a new and eye catching way to use Snowy, I was inspired by a similar layout on Pinterest. I have used the ProMarkers to colour. The snowflake paper is from a Forever Friends pad, I teamed it up with another paper from my scraps tin. The sentiment is another creation of my own, and I have added it to my "sentimental freebies" page ( see the tab at the top).....you are more than welcome to grab it if you'd like to make use of it. Added lace and sticky pearls as a finishing touch.

Alex the dinosaur!

Good morning my lovely blog chums, hope you've had a great week.

Earlier in the year, I made a birthday card for my step-grandaughter, Erin, which featured a Pink Gem digi of a little girl in a Unicorn costume......it will be her little brother's second birthday in February, and I had been intending to do something similar,  but then a particular challenge caught my eye so I decided to get ahead of myself, and had good trawl through my digi stamp files to find something suitable.

I thought the image on today's card would suit Alex, perfectly!

The digi stamp is from A Random Fan (sadly no longer trading), and is coloured with ProMarkers. The gingham paper was a free download, and I added the sentiment on using Baby Lexi font. The balloon dies was an old magazine freebie, which i use a lot, added two enamel dots from YNS to finish.

Christmas in September!

Hello my lovely blog chums, I hope your weekend has got off to a good start.

We have the opportunity to do a Craft Fair in November, and whilst my Mum has been laid up she has been keeping herself occupied with some crochet items to sell, so I thought I'd better "do my bit", and get some more Christmas cards in the box.....
This adorable LOTV digi, is one of my favourites for Christmas. I have used ProMarkers to colour. The papers are from Papermania Capsule Collection, the sentiment is my own creation using "Humble" and "Champagne and Limousines" font, and was printed into a scrap piece and then cut out using a faux stitched label die from, The Works. The corner tabs were created using a smaller die from the same set. I love combining a swirly type of font  with something more simple and crisp looking....I have saved this sentiment as a png file as I think I will be using it a fair bit over the next few months - I am adding it here - please feel free to grab and save it, if you'd like to use it too!

I am planning on doing this more frequently with my sentiments, so watch this space - if there is anything you'd like to see, by all means, let me know!

Ribbons and Bows at Christmas with the Cuties!

Good morning and Hello to you, my lovely blog chums! I do hope that this post finds you well. It's a over a month since I was last here.....and what a month it's been! Mid August, Alistair and I returned from a wonderful short holiday to Eastbourne with his sister and her husband....the weather had been lovely, the hotel was nice, the air show had been going on there, we'd just had a really good time but a day or so after getting back my Mum took  a tumble whilst out walking her dog, and subsequently broke her hip! After that our days have flown by in a rush of running around looking after her, seeing to Tilly (her dog), keeping on top of things in both her home and mine, looking after our own lively puppy.........oh and still having to go into work too! Our kids, and her neighbours have pitched in to help too which has been fantastic, she is recovering well and slowly now, things are getting closer to "normal"

So much so, that I even managed to make a card......Yay!!!!

Today see's the start of a brand new challenge at
and our theme is
RIBBONS AND BOWS
very easy to accomplish on a Christmas card, methinks!
this completely adorable image is a fairly recent release from
Lili of the Valley
I think it was released as a Christmas digi, but I would day it is versatile enough for other occasions. I have coloured with ProMarkers. The backing paper is from a pad from The Range. I thought the snowflake border die, would make it look a bit more festive. The ribbon and pearl are from my stash. I felt it needed something a little extra, and I dug out a box of wooden Christmas tags, that I had picked up from Sainsbury's in the January sales, with the intention of making my Christmas wrapping look really fancy this year, anyway, I thought this was snowflake was a perfect finishing touch!

Our lovely sponsors for this challenge are our good friends at
Who have a fabby prize for our lucky winner.

So.....have you started making your Christmas cards yet this year, if you have why not hop on over and join us......if you haven't.....now's your chance!!!!

I couldn't possibly close this post without adding one little photo, in the midst of the chaos of the last month we had the most wonderful family celebration, Megan's Graduation 🎓 Day.
It was such a joyous day, I was absolutely bursting with pride! She completed her degree in Mathematics with a 2:1 and has just started teacher training at a boys Grammar school. It's quite a significant point actually, as I decided to launch Christmas with the Cuties three years ago, when Megan first went away to Uni, as a bit of a distraction and challenge for myself....and here we are now, with BOTH going from strength to strength!

Going Green for Christmas with the Cuties

Good morning my lovely blog chums....hope this post finds you fine and well! Once again my problem with "not having enough hours in the day", has caught up with me and I am super late with this DT card. We have recently had family down from Scotland, my step daughter and her two children.....I had forgotten how hard work a 4 year old and a 15 month year old can be, lol! We had some wonderful days out together...I will try to share some photos here....but one of the most fun things we did was a visit to an indoor trampoline centre....to the yells of, "come on Nanny Lisa, come on and play', I very gingerly stepped in to a trampoline - found myself to be still alive after a couple of gentle bounces and about half an hour later I was galloping around the place like a mad woman!!!! I absolutely loved it, and judging by the aches I felt for the next few days, it was great exercise too, so when the schools go back in September, I will be making enquiries about sessions there for overweight and old enough to know better types like me.

Anyway, more importantly, I do have to tell you about our current challenge at

Our theme is

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

Good morning to you my lovely blog chums!

It's been a couple of weeks now, since my last post here - and what a couple of weeks we've had!!! So long story, short....we have a new member of family: a West Highland Terrier puppy, that we have named Harvey. If you've ever had puppy you will now how chaotic that can be, but we found ourselves with a poorly little boy.....he wasn't eating at all and several trips to the vet, and something unmentionable being vomitted up confirmed that the poor wee  chap had been suffering with round worms....he is now on medication, is recovering well and has definitely found his appetite!!! Our older Westie, is still not entirely happy about  the new arrival, but it's very early days yet. Will add a photo at the end this post, but for now I must get back to why I am actually here, lol

So we have a fabby challenge over with the Cutie Pies and our theme is
GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN

our lovely sponsors for this challenge are

They also very kindly provided some gorgeous images for the team to play with.......I have used a Little Miss  Sugarpops digi that you can find here. I have used ProMarkers to colour, and image was cut out on a Spellbinders fancy oval die. The birthday gift die is from X cut. The paper is from a Trimcraft stack, enamel dots from YNS, and finally the pearl heart ribbon slider was an eBay purchase....I have been using these on Wedding Invitations, and had some spares.
